Lord Jesus, of Mary, you were born long ago,
How we should have loved You, but we did not know
love and forgiveness and understood not,
Your Love; so we devised a wicked plot
to get rid of You; yet You stayed not dead,
but pronounced forgiveness to us instead.

And as our sword pierced through Your side,
we also pierced Mary's heart when You died.
But she was there on that Pentecost morn
when the Comforter came, and again, You were born.
In three thousand hearts on that one Day,
for the comforter came when You went away.
The Handmaid today that is Your Mother,
is the Church that does the will of Your Father.

Mary at her Salvation
"Mary, Mary, why have you come
when you knew I was here in Simon's home?"
"Master, oh Master, I have need of Thee,
My sins are so great and as You can see,
the Simons of earth can never forgive me
for a sinful woman they know me to be."

"I have somewhat Simon to say unto thee:
You brought me no oil; you washed not my feet.
Simon, listen, I have more to say,
though your debt is less, have you ought to pay?
This woman washes with her tears my feet,
anointing them with ointment of fragrance so sweet.
She has poured forth her love which is greater than thine;
Oh Simon, hear me that you may be Mine!"

Mary at the Anointing
Again at the last comes Mary again.
her love has grown greater since she let Him in.
Under guidance divine, she takes precious spikenard
and before us all, she anoints with beauty our Lord.
"She hath done what she could," Oh Lord, have we?
Grant us to be broken and gracious as she.

Marys on Resurrection Morning
And should it not follow that the first to see,
the resurrected Lord would be Mary?
Early at the tomb, two Marys appear
prepared to anoint His body so dear.
"He is not here, but Risen." 'Twas the angel's voice,
"Go tell His disciples," for all must rejoice!

His Wedding Feast
The disciples on earth are become my Body.
Arise Mary, it is time for thee
to anoint My Body, and this time to prepare
My Body for my marriage, as my bride so fair!
Let your light shine forth for the world to see,
"The Master has come and He calleth for thee!"
By a Mary named Jeri.
Begun by the Spirit in 1968 and finished by the Spirit in 2002.
