Lenny's Meditation, 2/20/01
This is an answer the Lord gave me for a reader, who asked on several occasions, "How could something corruptible and mortal such as sin, come out of a God who is incorruptible and immortal?" Anointed by the Holy Spirit, the prophet Isaiah said, "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things" (Isa. 45:7, KJV). Perhaps this is what he meant in Verse three, when God through him said, "And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel." Deut. 32:39 clearly says that God kills and God makes alive and God wounds and God heals. It is all totally in His hands.
The first question I would ask you today is, "How long have you been walking with God?" The second question is, "What path has God put you on? Do you know the path He has for you?" The third question is, "What part of the body of Christ has He put you in? What part of the body of Christ are you?" You have to understand that the Holy Spirit is our teacher (I Jn. 2:27). He is the one who leads us into all truth (Jn. 16:13). Why? Because He is part of God and He is the only one who knows God and knows the truth about God (Jn. 16:13-15). Now, what you have to realize is that only the Holy Spirit knows the answer to these questions I've asked about you. If you are part of the foot, you are not going to be taught the same way as the hand is taught and the hand is not going to be taught the same way as the heart is being taught. These are things that you need to know about yourself spiritually. Many times, our natural mind comes up with these questions, and the natural mind will never be satisfied with any type of answer because the natural mind cannot understand the things of God (I Cor. 2:10-16). So, start from the beginning. Find out what path God has for you; what part of the body you are, and then, have the Holy Spirit lead you into all truth, instead of asking everybody else questions.
If you are young in the Lord, then I don't have any problems with your asking questions, but if you are an adult in the Lord, you have to depend on the Holy Spirit and patiently wait for Him to give you the answers. Some of the answers I have received have taken a long time for God to gradually give me an answer, a little at a time, and finally, after a couple of years, I see that this is the answer to the question that I asked two years ago. He will lead you into all truth, the truth that is for you personally, perhaps not for anyone else. We have to reach a point just like Paul the Apostle, when he said, "I didn't read it anywhere. I wasn't taught this by anyone. It was a direct revelation by Jesus Christ" (Gal. 1:12). This is that personal walk with God that we have to have, each one of us. I never put anything into writing that my natural mind says. Everything is a direct revelation from Jesus Christ, and it is always brand new for me, whatever it is. I have tried to answer some of your questions for you, but you are still not satisfied and the reason for that is because your questions have come from your natural mind, and your natural mind is never going to be able to grasp what the Spirit of God is saying.
There is a walk in God that no one else can help you with except the Holy Spirit, because He is the teacher of truth. Paul said, "that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him," (Eph. 1:17, RSV). (See also I Pet. 1:13). The only time that you are going to hear directly from God is when He thinks that you are ready to receive, that you are ready to hear. I have been walking this way for over 35 years, and I am amazed every time that God shares something new with me, and I have realized that there is never going to be a time when God runs out of new things to share with me, and it is a blessing to be in that place.
We are here in Neosho, MO, because God sent me to an adult men's Sunday School class at a local Baptist Church. I've been attending that class for almost three years, and prior to that, I had interceded for these men in prayer for probably three years. These men, whom I love, have been running from meeting to meeting, teacher to teacher, preacher to preacher for up to 50 years, some of them, and they have not yet come into the maturity of Christ. Why? Because they do not ask God for themselves, but depend on men for answers. I shocked them a few weeks ago by saying that a bible teacher's goal is to work himself out of a job, by pointing his students to the Holy Spirit, who will take them on to maturity. You will find this to be what happens in your life as well. May God bless you on your journey into truth, for He is truth.
