When Paul said "that if possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead" (Phil. 3:11, RSV). I believe what he was saying is, "that I may attain to the resurrection." The words "the dead," I think, may have been added by someone afterwards. "That I may attain to the resurrection of the dead." Why would you want to reach that point so far ahead when you were still alive and vital? Paul was always positive, always speaking in the now. I believe that he came into a place with God that we are now, some of us, where we recognize that after Jesus rose from the dead, His body was both physical and spiritual at the same time, and this is the place that we can attain to now. Jesus walked with the men to Emmaus (Lk. 24:13-16), just like a normal person. That's just what they saw, a normal person, except they were not allowed to recognize Him. He sat down and ate with them. When He broke the bread, they recognized Him (Lk. 24: 30-31). So, He had a meal with them, and then He disappeared. With the Apostles, He came to them, walking through the wall or through the door, because the doors were shut, because they were afraid of the Jews. There, He said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side; do not be faithless, but believing"" (John 20:27, RSV). He was a normal, physical person, and again He said, "Do you have something to eat?" because He wanted to prove to them that He was not a ghost (Lk. 24:36-43).

This is the place that God right now is bringing us into, a resurrection life, not a glorified body necessarily, but a body that has come out of resurrection. We have been dead physically so long, but now the spiritual has totally taken over the physical part of us and it has become a different type of body. It is a body that is in a sense, physical, but not limited to the physical, not limited to time and space and gravity. This is so new to me right now, but I believe the glorified body comes later. Right now, we are dealing with the resurrection body. I see it; I hear it and I have tasted it just a little bit, but I'm not there yet. I know that because of the tremendous pains that are in my body right now. The body that I am talking about will be free of sickness, free of being tired, free of any weariness whatsoever. There will be a total clarity in the Spirit to us. Aren't we all hungering and thirsting and yearning to be able to heal people, physically, emotionally, and spiritually? Aren't we yearning to be able to speak to people about God and there is no resistance there because it is so clear to them what we are saying? There is no hindrance in our words. We are life giving spirits, and this resurrection body will be able to totally produce that life giving, life and light. For years upon years, we have been crying, "Father, set us free, with the freedom and the power to go forth in your name."

It is promised that "as he is, so are we in this world" (1 Jn. 4:17). This is not how He was before the resurrection, but how He is now! I believe this is the resurrection life that we're looking for. I also believe that there is more beyond this, but this is the next step that we have to take. God spoke to my wife the other day and said, "Up to now, the two of you have been living in the negative part of what I needed to show you about my sovereignty and authority, but from now on, you are going to step into the positive aspects of me." This will be part of the birthing forth of the God-man that dwells in us and that we are. We are not physical or spiritual anymore. We are a blend of our spirit and God's Spirit, joined together into a new creation. The old has passed away, not just the old flesh, but the old spirit also has passed away. All things have become new (2 Cor. 5:17). "Behold," Christ said, "I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful" (Rev. 21:5; KJV). There is for us, total, total newness. It is no more 20, 30, or 50% physical and the rest spiritual. It is totally God directed action. I don't have to try to become anything anymore. We are already that which we will be revealing. God is very cautious about bringing us into this, because in this place, there is totally no more physical action. We are so used to doing, doing, doing, our natural minds work in this area, of trying to fix everything, trying to improve everything. That will not be necessary anymore. God is going to totally eliminate any self action whatsoever, in the physical. We are going to be what we are. There will be no more indecisions whatsoever. Everything will be clear, and everything will just flow in the Holy Spirit, a continuous outpouring of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost (Rom. 14:17).
