 Bunnies and chickens, candy and eggs

kitties and frogs with little green legs.

All have starred in our Easter cards

with poems that would flummox the bards.

We've had an Easter crisis for many years,

hens squawking, rabbits in tears,

greedy villains and a heroic save,

happy children who laugh and wave.

We made them for our grand kids at the start,

but sent them also to the young at heart.

After all these years, we're out of gas;

there are no more surprises for our Easter blast.

So this year, we're going to do something new;

we'll just send a simple, "We love you."

Make up your own story and send it to me,

we'll make a card with it, quick as can be.

We hope you aren't disappointed, angry or sad

or think we're stingy, or selfish or bad.

Cause we want to make you smile,

and maybe you will after a little while.

In the meantime,

Happy Easter from Jan and Lenny,

two of your friends who love you plenty
