This book is fiction though the characters bear a certain resemblance to Lenny and me at that time in our lives. Written twenty years ago, it reflects concepts we learned while working a Codependency Recovery Program. It's satirical, sometimes silly, often funny, but hopefully, the reader will glean some new ways of looking at life and our "Christian duty" toward others.

Twenty years go, I sent the first three chapters of the book and an outline to a publisher. The Publisher's "test readers" concluded that my main character Guiseppe is too stupid for them to care what happens to him. You get to be the judge of that, but at the time, that bleak assessment squashed any thoughts of publishing it. That ended that. I put the book out of my mind, and left it in the recesses of my computer hard drive for decades.

Sometime in May, the book came roaring back into my mind. Curious, I dug it out, transferred it to my current word processor and read it again. It still made me laugh out loud and I said, "Lord, what should I do about this?"

There was no answer for several weeks, but I kept polishing the book, editing the punctuation, or whatever, all the while wondering why I was going to so much trouble. Finally, after observing to the Lord that the book is probably too silly and frivolous for our very spiritual readers, He said, "If it would help one person, would you publish it?"

"Of course I will," I answered quickly. It took a number of days of "divine processing" before I realized that the person it had helped was me. As I've said about several of the writings, if it helps anyone else, "That's gravy." My thanks to several friends who kindly read the book and offered their suggestions to me: Kimberly Middleton, Chuck Andrus, Joanne Anstine, Jamie Bury, and Susan Winer were very helpful in the process of clearing my thinking and making the decision to publish it to our Glory Road family of readers.

May the Spirit of God bless you through this writing, which will be serialized, one chapter a week, beginning July 11, Lord willing. Lenny and I appreciate your encouragement and support over all these years of being on the Internet.

Love and blessings, Lenny and Jan Antonsson
